For the University of Florida, this meant carefully thinking through allocations to various units, and running both internal unit comparisons as well as external peer institution comparisons.

Auburn University had to move to an RCM process over the next six years, but had little internal support due to a lack of good data. By gathering unit spend data, Auburn was able to show how it compared to peer universities and how internal units compared to each other, and demonstrate a clear need for improvement in Facilities, IT, and Development.
